Number 6 Ponytail. In 1962, a new style
ponytail with a more firmer hair. Ponytail
with curly bangs, hard curl on end.

These ponytails are known as the Number 6
and 7. Same item no. 850. Her issue date was
1962-1966. These dolls had a box date of
1962. Straight leg body. Painted nails. This
doll could have the variation painted legs.
Hair was a hard curl on the end with curly
bangs. Hair: textured, tight, like a saran
texture. Note: The hair colors that
were used matched to the shades on her lips.
Blue eyes. Blonde, brown, or reddish color
brows. Coral lips. These dolls wore a one
piece red stretch swimsuit.
Hair colors: assortment of blondes,
brunettes, or titian. Lips: Mattel painted the
lips to match hair colors.
This doll along with the Number 7 ponytail has the
larger neck knob, tan straight leg body,
painted nails
Pearl earrings, optional sunglasses with
blue lenses, a wrist tag, and open toe red
mules/ heels, black or gold wire stand;
which were all included in boxed new
condition.
This doll's booklet was the Barbie & Ken
1962 or Barbie and Ken or Barbie Ken
and Midge 1962 (white booklet). For site
