In
1969,
Mattel brought the Talking P.J. doll into the Barbie family. Item
1113. P.J. doll was made from the Midge head mold. Body
description: bendable legs and pink talking. P.J.doll had painted
orange lips & blush, brown eyes and rooted eyelashes. Hair style:
Long straight blonde hair which was divided into 2 sections, held
back as pigtails and decorated with small strands of multicolored
seed-like beads. Bangs in front. Body markings: @ 1967/ Mattel, Inc./U.S. & Foreign/Pats. Pend./Hong Kong Arms: Mexico.

P.J. wore a long sleeved orange floral tricot mini dress with orange nylon panties. The panties had lace white trim at the legs. Also included: hot pink pilgrim heels and a pair of round shaped soft rubbery sunglasses (lavender in color), attached to her head when packaged new. Doll came with head cello- wrist tag- and a clear plastic stand for posing. It is common for the legs to fall off these dolls. They are commonly found in mute condition. They can be restored to talk. Box dated 1969
