Bubblecut
A New design came to the Barbie doll
line in 1961, when Mattel added the
bubblecut series

Barbie. In
1962, the
ponytail
continued to
be on the
line as
well but the
new style
bubble cut,
that was introduced
in 1961, was
more
plentiful to
the market.
The Bubblecut
hair style came in a mix of hair colors and lips
colors.
Lip colors
were: red and pale pink shades. Nails colors
varied as well.

Some of these Sidepart Bubble dolls were found in the later year (of the American Girl line) in Bend leg doll boxes on Bend leg bodies with the hair as a cross- hatch rooting system or pattern. They may have the American Girl head markings as well. This doll is very Rare and a nice addition if you are lucky to find one authentic.
