legs. Item no. 1080 was now
on the line in 1965. B/l tan
body with painted nails.
Hair colors: blonde, titian,
or brownette. Her hair was
styled as chin to shoulder
length pageboy-middle part
w/bangs and held in place w/
a blue hair ribbon. When
packaged new, this doll had
cello over the head & a
Mattel id wrist tag.
Details: Blue eyes. Light
color brows. Deep coral
lips. Blush. Light brown
freckles. Midge wore a
multi-colored turquoise,
yellow, red, orange & blue
striped one piece swimsuit
w/an elastic waist line.
More accessories included:
turquoise heels-gold wire

Skipper had the bendable legs in
1965. Item no. 1030. Tan
body. Hair: waist
length-styled w/ a middle
part w/ straight bangs. When
new in box, this doll came
w/ a brass headband, head
cello & a wrist tag. Her
hair was either shades of
brunette, titian and blonde.
Peach, pink, or yellow lips.
This doll wore a one pc.
navy stretch swimsuit w/a
white & red striped insert
at the top bodice. The
striped insert had a anchor
design sewn on. Accessories
included: red flat shoes, a
small white brush & comb,
gold wire doll stand & doll
booklet. Booklet dated
1964-EFBM Book 1. Her box
was dated 1964. Skipper head
mold. Head markings inside
the rim: Copyr. @ 1963

Skooter Bendable leg for photo joined
the bendable legs family in
1966.
Item no. 1120. 1st issue had
the tan vinyl, as the later
issues had the pink. The
pink vinyl could fade or
pale over time. Hair: was
either blonde, brunette, or
titian. Her hair was styled
with a middle part, hair
pulled into 2 pigtails of
shoulder length, curl on the
ends and the pigtails were
tied w/2 red hair ribbons
into bows. Brown eyes. Light
or pale brown brows. Pink
lips. Light brown or tan
freckles. Some of the
bendable Skooter dolls are
seen w/extra blush & w/ a
softer hair texture. This
must not be common because
most of my Skooters have the
courser hair. This doll wore
a red & white dotted
sleeveless crop top w/ruffle
and blue denim shorts. How
cute! Wrist tag on this doll
when packaged new. Gold wire
stand & booklet -EFBM
Book 1, dated 1964,
included. Doll came w/red
flat shoes and white brush &
comb. Head used: 1964 head.
Inside head rim marked:

Body markings: @
1963/Mattel, Inc. This new
pink plastic that was used
on the B/L Skooter in 1966,
was also used on the B/L
Skipper, S/L Skipper, S/L
Ricky and S/L Skooter.
During 1966, Mattel
discontinued the Allan doll
but Allan item 1000 & item
1010, could be special
ordered through mail-in
programs/offers until later

1965, Ken doll, item no.
1020 was on the line, with
bendable legs. More
outstanding dolls for the
toy line. Description: Tan
body. Hair color painted
brunette or blonde as molded
hair. When new in box, Ken
had head cello with a rubber
band holding the plastic bag
in place. Ken doll had
turquoise eyes, brown brows
and peach color lips. This
doll could have heavy or
light cheek blush. Ken wore
a navy & red short sleeve
jacket w/the letter "K"
w/matching solid red swim
trunks. Accessories: red
cork sandals, wrist tag
included, black wire doll
stand, and a 1964 EFBM Book
1 booklet. Late issues maybe
seen with a gold wire doll
stand in the box. Painted
head ken mold was used.
Markings: @ 1960/by/Mattel,
Inc./Hawthorne/Calif.U.S.A. In
1965, Allan too, was on the
line again, with the new
bendable legs. Item no.
1010. Tan body. Allan had
painted red-brown hair from
the Allan head mold. Brown
eyes. Reddish brows. Peach
lips. Cello bag over this
doll's head when new in box,
secured w/rubber band. Allan
wore a short sleeve red
beach jacket with the
initial "A" on the front- at
the top & centered with a
multi-colored striped fabric
accent. Solid color blue
trunk bottoms made this a
perfect combo. Blue cork
sandals were given to Allan.
Doll came packaged w/ a
black or gold metal wire
doll stand and wrist tag.
His booklet was EFBM Book 1,
dated 1964. Markings: @
1960/by
Mattel,Inc/Hawthorn/Calif.
Both these dolls are
remarkable. For many years,
they were so hard to find
and still somewhat difficult
to come across NRFB. See
