Item 750. Ken stands 12" in height. Ken doll had a fascinating hairstyle. He came with the choice of blonde, brunette or reddish brownette flocked hair design. The reddish brownette hair version was available in the J.C. Penney catalog and Vhtf. The blonde and brunette were more common than the brownette hair. The flocking could rub off through child's play or from improper storing over time. Ken has blue painted eyes, brown brows and peachy/ mauve lips. Movable head, arms, and a straight leg tan body; made of hard plastic.

in 1963..  he had an odd look to his height. He was 1/4 inch shorter than the rest of the Ken dolls and with more pronounced kneecaps, heftier legs and the leg and shoulder joints were loose; a different quality material may have been used. 1963. Legs could fit very loosely to the torso. Despite these findings, the doll is a treasure to own with the pronounced kneecaps and shorter height. Same 750 model no. was given to this doll. He had the painted crew cut hair style. Hair colors: blonde or brunette. Turquoise eyes. Brown brows. Peach lips. S/l tan body. He wore the same clothes as the previous year as well. Box dated: 1962. Barbie and Ken booklet dated 1962 was included. Ken wore: red and white striped jacket with terry cloth bonded collar and facing, red cotton swim trunks, either solid or with red and white stripe on the side. Extras: red sandals with cork bottoms, wrist tag, black wire stand. In 1964, the Ken doll was back on the market. The doll was the same height as the 1962 ken doll. This doll had the same painted crew cut hair style. He had the same type body plastic with only a difference to his body markings. Markings: Ken R/  @ 1960/by/Mattel, Inc./Hawthorne/Calif. U.S.A.  "R" as trademark encircled. This years' Ken was dressed as the 1962 Ken doll but with a difference to the striped jacket-for 1964, the white terry cloth collar and lining were no longer stitched in. Now, it was bonded onto the red and white striped jacket with the collar stitched in. Black stand included. These are all great dolls to have for any collection. The Ken doll has a wonderful wardrobe collection.  Read more on the Bendable & Talker Ken dolls on this web site-follow historical links or see directory to top later ponytails
