Model 1111. After a year of being off the market, in 1969, Mattel brought back the Ken doll with a new head design and a much huskier body. Body Id markings are: @ 1968/Mattel, Inc./U.S. & for. Pat'd/Pending/Other Pat's/Pending/Mexico Head mold id: 1968. Head mold markings: @ 1968 Mattel Details: Ken has a pink talker body and bendable legs. Blue eyes. Pink lips. Reddish eyebrows. This doll has the Edwardian hair style which was a medium shade of brown or reddish brown. Painted head. Ken wore a red short sleeve jacket with bronze colored buttons and matching shorts that had an elastic waist. Accessories: Included a wrist tag and a clear X stand for posing.

Item 1128. In 1969, the Talking Julia doll joined the Barbie doll family. Julia wore a gold and silver one piece jumpsuit. This doll was a Talker model with a bendable leg body.

More info: Talking Julia details: Vinyl in a brown skin color. Hands were made in Mexico. Head is from the Christie mold. Brown eyes, rooted eyelashes and straight dark brown hair. markings: @ 1967 Mattel, Inc. U.S. & Foreign Pats. Pend. Mexico  Item 1127. Twist 'N Turn Julia. This doll was based on the T.V. show, "Julia" personality played by actress, Diahann Carroll. This doll has the same hair and vinyl skin as the Talking Julia doll. Doll's head made from the Christie head mold. Bendable legs. Twist waist.

 

More info: Julia wore a 2 piece white nurse's uniform with shoes. Id markings: @ 1966 Mattel, Inc. U.S. Patented U.S. Pat. Pend. Made in Japan  

doll's hair can oxide. Julia's hands were made from the original Barbie mold, but the fingers were not cut completely through as the originals. Item 4043  In 1969, a new style Barbie Hair Fair came with short hair only with different hair pieces from the first set. The 4042 Hair Fair was available through mail order.

More Info: All Talker dolls are very fragile and are commonly known for the legs to come off. Most Talker dolls are found mute (cannot talk), but they can be restored to talk again! All dolls shown are from my collection and are not for sale.  This is a collector info site only. Private collection/collector.
