twist 'n turn (1969)

Mattel added another Twist 'N Turn Barbie in 1969 with a new flip hair style.  She was item 1160. Description as follows:  New hair style with a shoulder length flip, with parting to the right side and a pin curl at the forehead. This example has the factory store cello over her hair. Hair colors are: brunette, blonde and brown (hair could show highlights). This doll has rooted eyelashes, blue eyes, brown eye brows, blush and deep pink or red painted lips. Many dolls are not painted the same from factory so facial and eye expressions can be found which sets these dolls apart from all being the same.

Box dated: 1968.  a see thru packaged box- with a Barbie oval sticker printed in white and pink, placed on front cello over the box w/ a cardboard backing and sides. These earlier doll boxes have great graphics! This new flip Twist 'N Turn doll wore a one piece multicolor diamond pattern swimsuit of yellow, red, pink, and pale green. The fabric was a woven type knit. The yellow collar set off the main color pattern out perfectly. Lovely colors!

Body description: Painted nails, twist 'n turn pink plastic body. Doll comes packaged with a clear posing stand, wrist tag and head cello. Also when new, included a doll fashion booklet titled- World of Barbie Fashions (WOBF), dated 1968.
