Talker
Barbie begins. Model 1115. This doll series came in several hair colors:
blonde/ titian (red), and brown (a variety). This doll's
hair was styled to the side/to mid back length/ponytail
tied with 3 pink hair ribbons/curled side burns and
front bangs (different lengths of bangs have been seen
in Nrfb examples). Blue eyes/rooted eyelashes/light
brown brows/pink or deep pink lips and cheek blush.
Mattel used the TNT head & pink body. Talker body.
Bendable knees. Arms:
Mexico Undivided fingers. (Per authors DeWein/Ashabraner,
prior to 1968 all dolls, except Miss Barbie, had been
made in Japan. The first talking dolls were made in
Mexico. All dolls, other than Spanish Talker, had new
designed undivided fingers).
Wardrobe:
Hip length pink swimsuit top/pink vinyl shorts/the top
had a yellow & pink yarn at the hem.
Accessories:
Clear doll stand for posing. Wrist tag. Booklet dated
1967 WOBF. Doll box dated 1967.

'N Satin. Also, this doll was used in the cardboard
issue (promotional or mail in offers/special). The first
Talking issues came in the clear thin plastic box
(includes Barbie/Spanish Barbie, Stacey, and Christie).
Note: In 1969, the same dolls came in new boxes
(referred as the window box-dolls were basically the
same with no major changes). Some of the 1st Talking
Barbie dolls mentioned Stacey in their speech.
Spanish Talking

Spanish was Model 8348. Hair styled same as model 1115
(see above for details). Blue eyes/ pink lips. Rooted
eyelashes/brown brows with cheek blush, too. Mattel used
the TNT head and pink talking body on this doll. The
Spanish Talker Barbie had the old style hands/divided
fingers as the earlier dolls. Her wrist tag was marked
"Made in U.S.A." Her hip had Mexico markings. Her
swimsuit was the same as model 1115 (see descriptions
above).

Most of these Talker dolls when found are not talking.
It is common for the legs to fall off. These dolls can
be repaired to talk. Check my fav links for doll
repairs/referrals/services.
Special:
The Spanish Talking dolls are very very hard to find.
The best way to get these dolls authentic would be as
NRFB (never removed from box). Buy these dolls with
reliable sources. They are costly on the secondary
market.
